# Connect a Tradovate account

> Connect Tradovate and NinjaTrader brokerage accounts to CopyFlock by signing in on Tradovate's own page. No password sharing and no API add-on.

Tradovate accounts connect through Tradovate's own sign-in page. You type your password on Tradovate's site, not on CopyFlock's, and CopyFlock never sees it.

This also covers:

* **NinjaTrader brokerage accounts.** They run on the same system as Tradovate.
* **Prop firm accounts on Tradovate.** These show as **Demo / prop** when you pick the account.

You don't need to buy Tradovate API access.

## Connect the account

  <Step title="Start adding an account">
    In the dashboard, go to **Accounts** and click **Add account**. Choose **Lead account** or **Follower account** and click **Continue**.

  <Step title="Choose Tradovate">
    Select **Tradovate** and click **Connect Tradovate**. A Tradovate window opens.

  <Step title="Sign in and approve access">
    Sign in with the Tradovate login that owns the account and approve access. Your accounts appear in CopyFlock automatically.

    If the Tradovate window stays open after you sign in, you can close it.

  <Step title="Pick the trading account">
    Choose the account you want to add. Each one is labelled **Live** or **Demo / prop**.

  <Step title="Finish">
    For a follower, choose its [copy settings](/settings/position-size). Then name the account and click **Create account**.

## Accounts on more than one Tradovate login

If your accounts are spread across several Tradovate logins, click **Connect another login** and sign in with the next one. Accounts from every login you connect appear in the same list.

Once you've connected a login, you can add more of its accounts without signing in again.

## When Tradovate asks you to sign in again

Tradovate sometimes ends the connection, for example after you change your password. When that happens, the dashboard tells you which login needs to be authorised again. Sign in again with **Connect another login**.

## Good to know

* You can trade the lead from the Tradovate web, desktop or mobile app, NinjaTrader or any other app that places orders on the account.
* Followers can be on Rithmic or TopstepX. See [Copy across platforms](/guides/cross-platform).

    No. You sign in on Tradovate's page, and Tradovate gives CopyFlock permission to use the account. To stop CopyFlock using an account, [remove it](/dashboard/managing-accounts#remove-an-account).

    That account is already connected. Each trading account can be added once.

    If the list says there are no active trading accounts yet, wait a few seconds and refresh. Make sure you signed in with the login that owns the account.
