# Frequently asked questions

> Answers to common questions about CopyFlock: platforms, setup, copying and sizing, prop firms, pricing and security.

## Getting started

  <Accordion title="What does CopyFlock do?">
    CopyFlock is a cloud futures trade copier. You trade one lead account, and CopyFlock copies each trade to your follower accounts in real time, sized by each follower's own settings. See [How CopyFlock works](/how-it-works).

  <Accordion title="Do I need to install anything?">
    No. You connect accounts in your browser and copying runs on our servers. There's no NinjaTrader add-on, desktop app or VPS.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does my computer need to stay on?">
    No. Copying keeps going when your computer is off. You only need a browser to change settings or check the dashboard.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How long does setup take?">
    Most traders connect a lead and a few followers in less than 3 minutes. Place a 1-contract test trade before trading full size. See the [Quickstart](/quickstart).

  <Accordion title="Can I trade the lead from any app?">
    Yes. CopyFlock watches the lead account itself, so orders from NinjaTrader, R|Trader Pro, the Tradovate apps, TopstepX or any other app connected to that account are copied.

  <Accordion title="Can I have more than one lead?">
    Yes. Each follower copies one lead, but you can run several leads, each with its own followers.

## Platforms

  <Accordion title="Which platforms are supported?">
    Tradovate (including NinjaTrader brokerage accounts), Rithmic and TopstepX. CQG, Quantower and Volumetrica aren't supported.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What about NinjaTrader?">
    NinjaTrader brokerage accounts connect as Tradovate. Prop firm accounts you trade in NinjaTrader with a Rithmic login connect as Rithmic. NinjaTrader doesn't need to be running. See [NinjaTrader accounts](/connect/ninjatrader).

  <Accordion title="Can I copy across platforms?">
    Yes, in any direction between Tradovate, Rithmic and TopstepX. See [Copy trades across platforms](/guides/cross-platform).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I copy my NinjaTrader simulation account?">
    No. Sim101 and playback accounts only exist inside NinjaTrader. Use a funded, evaluation or brokerage account as the lead.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to pay for API access?">
    Not for Tradovate or Rithmic. TopstepX accounts need a ProjectX API subscription, billed by ProjectX.

## Copying and sizing

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Which sizing methods are there?">
    Contract multiplier, fixed contracts, equity ratio, equity ratio × multiplier, fixed risk (% of equity) and fixed risk (amount). Every result is rounded to whole contracts. See [Position size](/settings/position-size).

  <Accordion title="Can followers trade micros when the lead trades minis?">
    Yes, with symbol mapping. Map NQ to MNQ on a follower and set a multiplier, for example ×10 for the same exposure. See [Copy minis to micros](/guides/minis-to-micros).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Are stop losses and take profits copied?">
    Yes, when **Copy stop loss** and **Copy take profit** are on, which they are by default. You can also skip trades that don't have them. See [Order settings](/settings/orders).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will followers get exactly the lead's price?">
    Not always. Each follower's order is sent after the lead fills, so prices can differ slightly, especially with market orders in fast markets.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens if I close a follower position by hand?">
    It stays closed, and the follower joins in again with the lead's next trade.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is there a daily loss limit or trading hours setting?">
    No. Use [account protection](/settings/account-protection) and pausing instead.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why does every follower trade 1 contract?">
    You're on the free trial. During the trial, followers copy a fixed 1 contract per trade. Your sizing takes effect once your paid plan starts.

## Prop firms

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Is copy trading allowed by prop firms?">
    It depends on the firm and the account type, and rules change. Many futures firms allow copying between accounts you own, but always check your firm's current rules. See [Prop firm rules](/guides/prop-firm-rules).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Which prop firms work with CopyFlock?">
    Firms whose accounts run on Tradovate, Rithmic or TopstepX, including Apex, Topstep, Tradeify, Bulenox, Earn2Trade and TheTradingPit. CopyFlock isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any firm.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I copy across different prop firms?">
    Yes. One lead can copy to followers at several firms and on different platforms.
  </Accordion>

## Pricing and billing

  <Accordion title="How much does CopyFlock cost?">
    Starter is \$29 a month for up to 10 accounts, Pro is \$49 a month for up to 20, and Unlimited is \$99 a month. Yearly billing is \$290, \$490 or \$990. See [Free trial and pricing](/billing/free-trial).

  <Accordion title="Does the lead account count?">
    Yes. Every connected account, lead or follower, counts as one.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How does the free trial work?">
    7 days free on 2 accounts. A card is required. Cancel before the trial ends and you're not charged.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I cancel any time?">
    Yes. Your subscription ends at the end of the current billing period. See [Manage your subscription](/billing/manage-subscription#cancel-your-subscription).

## Security

  <Accordion title="Does CopyFlock see my passwords?">
    Not for Tradovate, which uses Tradovate's own sign-in page, or TopstepX, which uses an API key. Rithmic has no sign-in page for other apps, so CopyFlock needs your Rithmic username and password. They're sent over an encrypted connection and used only to connect your account for copying. See the [privacy policy](https://copyflock.com/privacy).

  <Accordion title="Does CopyFlock give trading advice or signals?">
    No. CopyFlock only copies trades you place on your own lead account. Futures trading carries substantial risk. Read the [risk disclaimer](https://copyflock.com/risk-disclaimer).
