Questions to answer for every firm
- Are trade copiers allowed? Some firms say so explicitly. Others only mention automated trading in general.
- Is copying between accounts you own allowed? This is usually the key question if you hold several accounts.
- Is copying someone else’s trades allowed? This is often restricted even where copying your own accounts is fine.
- How many accounts can you hold or trade at once?
- Is hedging across accounts allowed? Holding a long in one account and a short in another is commonly banned. This matters if you use reverse trades.
- Do consistency or position-size rules apply per account? Copying makes accounts trade alike, but each is judged on its own.
- Are there rules on automation or news trading?
Where to find the answers
Firms publish their rules in their help center and in the terms you agreed to when you bought the account. Search for copy trading, trade copier, multiple accounts, hedging, automated trading and prohibited practices. If something is unclear, ask the firm’s support in writing, by email or ticket, and keep the reply. Re-read the rules when you move from an evaluation to a funded account, when you buy accounts on a new plan, and every few months anyway.CopyFlock settings that help
CopyFlock has no daily loss limit or trading hours setting. Use account protection and pausing instead.
A safe default setup
- Only copy between accounts that are yours.
- Keep reverse trades off for prop firm accounts.
- Set Max contracts on every follower to its account’s limit.
- Set account protection a little above each drawdown level, and raise it as trailing drawdowns move.
- Keep Copy stop loss on so every follower carries a stop.
- Re-read your firm’s rules whenever your account type changes.
